JD-backed yacht firm explores partnership in Dapeng

Executives from a yacht industry company backed by JD.com, a Chinese e-commerce giant, visited Dapeng New Area on March 12 to explore potential cooperation on a yacht club project.

The delegation from Shenzhen Tanhai Yacht Industry Development Co. held talks with district officials as part of efforts to expand high-end marine tourism and related industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

During the visit, the company inspected key sites including Nan’ao Wharf and Sevenstar Yacht Club. Nan’ao Wharf is planned to include about 100 berths and integrated port facilities, while Sevenstar Yacht Club is an established sailing venue that has hosted major international regattas.

Dapeng, which has roughly half of Shenzhen’s coastline, has developed a yacht industry cluster integrating events, business and leisure. Dapeng accounts for more than 70% of the city’s yacht berths.
