The Craftsmanship Brands Gallery at Shenzhen Bay Culture Square brings two prestigious, time-honored Chinese cultural brands — Xiling Seal Engraver's Society and Rong Bao Zhai — into a new, everyday setting.

In the gallery, art forms once confined to exhibition halls are now translated into accessible, functional items that blend cultural depth, artistic value, and practical use, allowing centuries-old traditions to take root in contemporary living.

Founded in 1904 in Hangzhou, Xiling Seal Engraver’s Society is the oldest surviving literati association in China and the earliest-established academic organization dedicated to epigraphy and seal engraving, both domestically and internationally.

The gallery’ design draws inspiration from the society’s Gushan headquarters, incorporating architectural elements such as stone archways, corridors, and moon gates. 

Through an integrated approach combining culture, digital technology, and interactive displays, visitors are offered an immersive introduction to the rich heritage of seal carving and stone inscription art.

Rong Bao Zhai, established in 1672 and often referred to as a “folk Palace Museum,” is known for preserving two national-level intangible cultural heritage techniques: woodblock watermark printing and traditional mounting and restoration. 

At the gallery, it presents a wide array of products, ranging from the “Four Treasures of the Study” — ink brush, ink, paper, and inkstone, to woodblock watermark printing artworks, as well as contemporary cultural and creative goods inspired by its extensive collection. 

The arrival of these two brands enriches the cultural landscape of Shenzhen Bay Culture Square, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the enduring appeal of traditional craftsmanship, and to bring a touch of refined Chinese aesthetics into their everyday lives.
