Located at OCT OH Bay, the Bay Opera of Shenzhen opened in September 2021. Covering an area of 20,660 square meters with a total floor area of 39,577 square meters, it includes a 1,500-seat opera hall, a 598-seat multi-purpose hall, rehearsal halls, and training rooms, with 237 underground parking spaces.
Designed by renowned architect Rocco Yim and his team from Rocco Design Architects Associates Ltd., the facility’s dynamic shape resembles waves or water eroding stone. The façade incorporates the intricate craftsmanship of Lingnan traditional ivory carving and wood carving techniques to create a transparent, multi-layered exterior that provides eco-friendly shading.
The acoustics were designed by Marshall Day Acoustics (Australia), ensuring world-class standards for reverberation time and clarity. As a premier international performing arts venue, it focuses on opera, drama, dance, musicals, and classical music, while also facilitating international cultural exchanges.
